She said that the visit would take place on the eve of the winter session of OSCE PA on February 21.
“The special representative, who will start his region tour from Azerbaijan, will meet with Azerbaijan’s President, speaker of the parliament, Foreign Minister and other officials. Soares will familiarize himself with the situation in all the three countries, report at the meetings of OSCE PA standing committees. We will try to organize his meeting with Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Karabakh.”
Joao Soares was appointed as OSCE PA Special Representative on the South Caucasus and Nagorno Karabakh at the session on July 10, 2011. He has not visited the region yet as a special representative.
Soares was also president of OSCE PA.
