Colombian senator expresses solidarity with Azerbaijani people on anniversary of Khojaly genocide

Baku. Victoria Dementeva – APA. Member of the Committee on Foreign Relations of Colombia’s Senate Alexandra Moreno Piraquive has sent a letter to Azerbaijan’s President and speaker of the Parliament. Spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev told APA that in her letter, the senator expressed solidarity with the Azerbaijani people on the anniversary of Khojaly genocide.

The letter says the Colombian people express solidarity with the fraternal Azerbaijani people: “The Colombian Senate understands the suffering of the Azerbaijani people and condemns the perpetrators of the genocide. 613 people have fallen victim to the genocide. Violence should not be forgotten and efforts must be made to prevent such atrocities.”

Abdullayev said that the recognition of Khojaly genocide in the world is widening every year: “The perpetrators of these brutal crimes against humanity will answer for their actions. This is one of the priorities of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy.”
