Baku-APA. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov attending Munich Security Conference met with Foreign Minister of Brazil Antonio Patriota. Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that the meeting focused on the prospects of bilateral economic relations. The sides said they intend to use the broad potential for the development of the relations. They also exchanged views on the enhancement of cooperation. Elmar Mammadyarov gave information about the dynamic development of Azerbaijan’s economy.
Elmar Mammadyarov said Azerbaijan is interested in improving cooperation with the countries of Latin America. It was underlined that the sports cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil serves the strengthening of the relations.
Brazilian Foreign Minister said he is informed about Azerbaijan’s energy history and underlined that his country is interested in improving energy cooperation with Azerbaijan. The ministers discussed prospects of cooperation in this field.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov gave information about Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, said presence of Armenian armed forces in the occupied Azerbaijani territories has negative impact on Armenia itself and said Armenia is seriously lagging behind the regional development. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister underlined that withdrawal of Armenian forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories will open new opportunities for the solution of the conflict and development of the region.
Brazil’s Foreign Minister underlined that Azerbaijan’s role in the Caucasus and noted that it is a very stable country.
