Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry: Armeniaâ€™s destrucitve position impeded the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict last year

The Foreign Ministry regrets that Armenia continued pursuing destructive policy, impeded peaceful resolution of the problem, with its serious provocations in the conflict zone attempted to make the situation more complicated.

“Armenian armed forces’ existence in the occupied Azerbaijani territories is the major obstacle for the resolution of the conflict and Azerbaijan raised this issue as the major argument during the negotiations.”

According to the Foreign Ministry’s opinion, the international community’s awareness about the conflict truths increased in 2012 and as a result of this, the decisions were passed on various levels commenting on certain aspects of the conflict: “Following the decision made by the Mexican Senate, the documents adopted by the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Pakistani Senate, Columbian Senate, the parliaments of the U.S. states of Maine and Georgia and the statement issued by the Governor of New Jersey condemned Armenia’s aggressive policy, war and crimes against Azerbaijanis, including Khojaly genocide.”
