Turkish and Azerbaijani delegation visiting Little Rock to attend the event met with Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Martin, Lieutenant Governor Mark Darr and Speaker of the House of Representatives Devy Carter. Azerbaijani representatives expressed their gratitude to Arkansas officials for the adoption of resolutions on the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Arkansas and Khojaly massacre by House of Representatives on February 8 and the Senate on February 11. Azerbaijani and Turkish flags were hoisted outside Arkansas State Capitol Building on the same day.
Counselor of the Azerbaijani Embassy in U.S. Fakhraddin Ismayilov made a speech at the banquet. Following this, Senator Bryan King, members of the House of Representatives Jonathan Barnet and Karen Hopper, who proposed adoption of the relevant resolutions by the Senate and House of Representatives, presented the symbolic copies of these documents to Counselor of the Embassy Fakhraddin Ismayilov.
