Azerbaijani and UK foreign ministers meet in Brussels

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov, who is on a visit to Brussels, attended the meeting of the foreign ministers of ISAF - Afghanistan International Security Assistance Force countries.

The Ministry’s press service told APA that the current state of ISAF operation and financial support of Afghan forces after 2014 were discussed at the meeting.

Elmar Mammadyarov met with UK Foreign Secretary William Hague as a part of the event. The cooperation issues between the two countries in various spheres were discussed at the meeting. The sides also expressed satisfaction with bilateral cooperation within the UN Security Council and exchanged views on the actual issues on the agenda of the UN Security Council.

William Hague highly estimated the partnership between Azerbaijan and NATO and thanked to Azerbaijan for its support to NATO operation in Afghanistan.

Further cooperation prospects between Azerbaijan and the European Union have been also discussed at the meeting.
