Baku – APA. Azerbaijani Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Belgium, head of the delegation to the EU Fuad Isgandarov presented his credentials to President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso.
Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that Jose Manuel Barroso talked about the development of the EU – Azerbaijan relations, the importance of Azerbaijan’s activity within the Eastern Partnership program and progress made in this field. He underlined the positive image of Azerbaijan formed in Europe. Touching on Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict he said that the current status-quo is unacceptable and the EU supports the OSCE Minsk Group activity towards the resolution of the problem. Barroso said the EU was ready to contribute to the settlement of the conflict.
The ambassador Fuad Isgandarov said in terms of the development of the cooperation with the European Union, Azerbaijan took a principal, equal-right position based on the interests of the two sides, and noted that Azerbaijan is one of the most reliable partners for the European Union. He gave information about the development projects implemented in Azerbaijan and the status-quo on Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan.
