Baku. Anakhanum Hidayatova – APA. “There have never been any problems between Azerbaijanis and Georgians. If any misunderstandings occured, they were solved in friendly way,” Azerbaijani Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov said at the meeting in Baku on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan, APA reports. He regretfully noted that the fate of the two nations is similar, both Azerbaijan and Georgia have undergone aggression, therefore thousands of people were displaced from their lands. The minister said that these problems will be solved within the framework of international law in the near future and Azerbaijan’s and Georgia's territorial integrity will be restored.
“Political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries have been developed. Infrastructure projects between our countries are developing successfully. Our energy reserves are being transmitted to world market through the territory of Georgia. At present, the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is underway. This project will not only be a new corridor between Azerbaijan-Georgia and Turkey but also be a link between Azerbaijan and Europe”, Z. Mammadov said.
