Azerbaijan FM considers EU officials statement on arrest T. Yagublu and I. Mammadov as fact of pressure

The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev said, commenting on the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle statement expressing concern on arrest of T. Yagublu and I. Mammadov, APA reports.

E. Abdullayev said that intervention in such investigation is unacceptable: " Europe, which is the so-called cradle of democracy, must understand that can not intervene in the investigative process, such intervention - is the pressure on the investigative process", said the head of the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

"We do not understand this approach to Azerbaijan. In Azerbaijan, there is no persecution of journalists ", said Elman Abdullayev.
