Baku. Mubariz Aslanov-APA. "The cooperation among the GUAM members is not on the sufficient level," Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov said at the 5th meeting of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly in Baku, APA reports.

He said that it is very important for GUAM to achieve concrete results in its activity. According to him, political issues should be taken into consideration in cooperation.

“There are conflicts in most of the member states, joint activity should focus on the solution of the conflicts,” he said.

Araz Azimov said much is to be done with regard to the trade turnover, business relations, especially tourism cooperation among the member states.

“Moreover, we should find new spheres, which have not been developed,” he said.

The Deputy Minister said that Azerbaijan had a number of important initiatives during its GUAM presidency and tried to expand the organization’s international relations. Azimov also said that the OSCE Minsk Group has not made considerable achievements in the settlement of the conflict. Mentioning Ukraine’s upcoming chairmanship of OSCE in 2013, he expressed his confidence that this country would give much attention to the GUAM platform.
