Konul Jafarli – APA. “Today it is impossible to find two close countries in terms of culture, religion, tradition, history, and even geography like Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan”, Azerbaijan's ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov said in an interview with "Fars" news agency, APA reports.
The ambassador denied media reports that the arms purchased by Azerbaijan from Israel and the United States pose threat to Iran: “Azerbaijan has repeatedly demonstrated commitment to friendship with Iran.”
Noting the importance of enhancing cooperation in science, especially among higher education institutions of Iran and Azerbaijan, Akhundov said that Azerbaijan is attempting to use the experience of Iranian physicians.
The ambassador said that Azerbaijani delegation would attend the international tourism exhibition to be held in Iran in a few days.
