Baku. Malahat Najafova-APA. “A failure to issue a joint statement by the OSCE Minsk Group and the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan is due to the unconstructive position of Yerevan”, said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in his statement to the journalists on the results of the meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group within the 19th Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Dublin, APA reports quoting the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
"Unfortunately, official Yerevan has a habit to reject later the issues which agreed earlier and because of the non-constructive position of Yerevan the joint statement of the Minsk Group co-chairs and Foreign Ministers was not agreed”, said Mammadyarov.
According to the minister, Armenia’s lack of political will and not being able for decisive action is due to the presidential elections in Armenia.
The minister of Foreign Affairs also noted with regret that the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group did not show sufficient persistence in this matter.
The Foreign Minister stressed that presence of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan is a serious impediment to the settlement of the conflict. “Even starting withdrawal of the troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan will establish conditions to regulate the conflict,” said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister.
