Azerbaijan to introduce unilateral visa-free regime for Japanese citizens for one year-UPDATED

Official Tokyo has welcomed Azerbaijan's decision to introduce a unilateral visa-free regime for Japanese citizens for a period of one year with the aim of promoting tourism and further expanding economic, humanitarian, and cultural ties, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

According to the information on the meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Japan, the sides confirmed that they will continue to facilitate mutual travel for their citizens.

Azerbaijan intends to introduce a visa-free regime for all Japanese citizens, said Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a meeting with his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi, APA reports.

Jeyhun Bayramov described the initiative as an important step toward facilitating travel, expanding business ties, promoting tourism, and strengthening relations between the peoples of the two countries.
