Heikki Talvitie: A number of geopolitical factors in the region have negative influence on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict

Baku. Tamara Grigoryeva - APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has received Special Envoy of OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ambassador Heikki Talvitie. The ministryâ€™s press service told APA that the guest highly appreciated the development, economic achievements he witnessed in Azerbaijan and said the development strengthened the countryâ€™s position. Touching upon the â€œfrozen conflictsâ€ in CIS space Heikki Talvitie shared his views on Nagorno Karabakh conflict and noted that a number of geopolitical factors in the region had negative influence on the settlement of the conflict.
Noting that stability and reliable partnership relations in the region were in the interest of each regional participant, Elmar Mammadyarov said Azerbaijan wanted to see its neighbor as a reliable and developing country. Underlining the importance of gradual settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict the minister said Armenian side should also be persuaded of it.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
