UN Human Rights Council’s 5th session starts

The 5th session UN Human Rights Council is starting in Geneva today, 3rd secretary of Azerbaijani Embassy in Switzerland Seymur Mardaliyev told the APA.
The delegation led by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Switzerland who doubles for UN ambassador accredited in Geneva branch Elchin Amirbayov will participate in the session. The session will last till June 18.
The session will highlight activities taken during the one-year activity of the Council. The UN expert on racism Doudou Diene will present a report on the situation in Russia.
Human Rights Council was established last year substituting the UN Commission on Human Rights on March 15, 2006, the Council has 47 members. Azerbaijan, Russia and Ukraine from the CIS are also the member states. /APA/
