Azerbaijani consul general says Baku-Tbilisi cooperation is regional cooperation example

The cooperation between Baku and Tbilisi in the South Caucasus is an example of regional cooperation,â€ Azerbaijani consul general to Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov said at the meeting â€œSouth Caucasus: challenges and opportunitiesâ€ held in the framework of the Black Sea Security Program of Harvard University. The consul general drew attention to transnational projects implemented in the South Caucasus and underlined that Azerbaijan and Georgia are alternative energy corridor for both the US and Europe and play important role in building cultural dialogue.
Russiaâ€™s role in the Middle East was discussed in the Fares Center of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy on March 29. Azerbaijani and Georgian officials expressed common positions concerning further development of the region and principles of settling local conflicts.
The participants particularly stressed that two countries of the South Caucasus-Azerbaijan and Georgia have similar approach on a number of problems. /APA/
