The Naval Forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz in response to the continued attacks on Lebanon, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
The IRGC Navy stated that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed to all vessels due to the continuation of Israeli attacks in Lebanon and what it described as the United States' failure to uphold its commitments regarding the enforcement of a ceasefire.
In a statement, the IRGC Navy said that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and warned ships not to approach the area, adding that their safety could be at risk if they do so.
It should be noted that earlier, the IRGC's Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters announced that maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz had once again been suspended in response to violations of the ceasefire in southern Lebanon.
