A meeting was held at AzerGold CJSC with Director General of the Somalia Development and Reconstruction Bank Adam Roble, who is visiting Azerbaijan as part of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group, APA reports.
During the meeting, Member of the Management Board and Deputy Chairman of AzerGold CJSC Khayyam Farzaliyev spoke about the company's main areas of activity, achievements, and efforts in the field of sustainable development. He noted that geological exploration, mining and processing operations are carried out by the company in line with international best practices, and provided detailed information on current projects and future development prospects.
Adam Roble spoke about the activities of the financial institution he represents and Somalia's mineral resource potential. He noted that the bank is currently participating in the implementation of a national program aimed at studying, mapping and restoring historical geological data on Somalia's rich underground resources, including gold, uranium, lithium and titanium.
The Director General emphasized their intention to benefit from AzerGold's advanced experience in attracting international investors, as well as in geological exploration and mining activities.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and agreed to continue information exchange at the level of relevant structural divisions responsible for the development of foreign projects in order to identify concrete opportunities for future cooperation.
