A man armed with a machete attacked visitors at a public services center in the southern Russian city of Krasnodar on Saturday, leaving one person dead and five others injured, according to local reports.
The incident took place at a Multifunctional Center (MFC) located inside the West Mall shopping center.
According to preliminary information, a young man entered the facility and suddenly began attacking people inside with a machete. Witnesses reported scenes of panic as visitors and staff attempted to flee the assault.
One victim died at the scene from injuries sustained during the attack, while five others suffered wounds of varying severity.
Emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene and transported the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. The condition of the victims has not yet been officially disclosed.
Law enforcement officers quickly responded to the attack and detained the suspect at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the attacker.
