Matthew Bryza: “We call Azerbaijan and Armenia to get together to talk over the civil aviation issues on opening of the airport”

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. US ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza called Azerbaijan and Armenia for discussions on civil aviation issues and opening of airport in Khankendi, APA reports. “The position of my government which is that in the case of airport we call all the sides to get together to talk over the civil aviation issues before the airport opens. We believe that there is no place for threats to shoot down civilian aircrafts. We think that the issues can be work through. The US condemns armed incidents on the line of contact of the troops”, said Bryza.

The ambassador also noted that it was very important that the sides come together and have a discussion about all the aspects of civil aviation.

Remind that, according to information of Armenian media, Armenia is planning to open an airport in Khankendi in May, and create constant air communication between the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
