Ambassador Azer Huseyn: “At present, there is no need to move Azerbaijani embassy from Tokyo to another city in connection with the radiation danger”

He noted that adoption of such decision needs a reason: “We always monitor the situation. Currently, there is no need to stop the activity of our embassy or to move it to another city. But we are continuing to follow the processes and will pass a decision depending on developments”. The ambassador said that Japanese government kept the state of radiation in the area near nuclear plant Fukusima-1 reactor where took place an explosion.

Remind that, according to information of the press, several diplomatic mission, as well as Austrian embassy in Japan decided to function in another city in relation to radiation danger. At present, necessary measures are being taken for evacuation of embassies. It is reported that some embassies decided to stop their activities completely.

As to offer help of Azerbaijan in connection with elimination of results of quake and tsunami, the ambassador noted that official Tokyo had been offered aids in different spheres: “At present, we conduct consultations on this issue with Japanese side”.

Azer Huseyn said that Azerbaijani embassy constantly got into touch with our citizens living and studying in this country: “We are ready to help our citizens if there is need. None of our citizens was injured or suffered during the natural disaster”.
