Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov held tête-à-tête and large meeting with Albanian Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto who is on an official visit to Baku, APA reports. At the joint briefing held after the meeting Mammadyarov said that the guest informed him about the current situation in the Balkans, and he informed his counterpart on the settlement process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict: “We noted our interest in broadening of economic relationships between two countries”.

Mammadyarov said that the agreement on visa-free travel for the citizens who have diplomatic and service passports was signed between two countries.

Haxhinasto called Azerbaijan very strong and developing country: “I hope that this development will cause not only the development of Azerbaijan, but the whole region”. Noting that Albania and Azerbaijan are friendly countries, the minister said during the meeting with Mammadyarov they decided that the relations had to step into new stage: “We will strengthen not only bilateral relations but also our cooperation within the framework of international organizations. We agreed to hold the meeting of intergovernmental commission soon for deepening of economic ties”.

Answering the question on Nagorno Karabakh, the guest noted that Albania supported territorial integrity of Azerbaijan: “We believe that there is still potential for solution of the conflict in a diplomatic way, this process must be continued. Today pursuance of integrative policy is more important in the world, obstacles and walls must not been built, vice versa, they had to be eliminated. Improvement of living conditions of people is the main goal. I think that Azerbaijan takes all these principles into account”.
