Azerbaijani ambassador’s spouse hosts luncheon

Azerbaijan ambassador’s wife Lale Bagirova hosted a luncheon for members of the Women & Youth Platform Association headed by President of the Association Professor Rüveyde Akbay last week at the Embassy of Azerbaijan.

After the welcome speeches the host and President Akbay Sabina Yusifli an Azeri student studying International Relations at Bilkent University gave brief information about Azerbaijan in which she emphasized that blue of the Azerbaijani flag represents being Turk, red represents freedom and green represents Islam.

Azerbaijan a country with a magnificent nature, culture and history was brought to the ladies participating by a video of the country and also brief information of prominent ladies of the country starting with the First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva who is a great and respectable example of contemporary women of today.

Then the guests had the opportunity to watch samples of Azeri songs and a short ballet performance by Hacettepe University Conservatory students Yağızhan Danış and Ezgi Sarıoğlu which was followed by a mini concert performed by State Artists from Ankara Opera and Ballet Ipek and Cumhur Böler couple.

Among the participants were former Minister Işılay Saygın, wife of Ankara Security Directorate’s chief Saime Toptan and wife of AK Party Deputy Köksal Toptan’s wife Saime Toptan who is also the chairwoman of the Turkish Training and Solidarity Foundation for the Disabled, and wives of members of the Embassy of Azerbaijan.

The host Lale Bagirova who also works as Assistant Professor teaching Turkish Literature in Ankara proved her golden heart by opening the doors of the Embassy for more than 50 ladies by covering all expanses just to be able to help and donated all the proceedings of the event to Women & Youth Association for their project of scholarships to needy students.
