Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan commemorates 19th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy

Head of Armenian Chair for the Turkish History Association, professor, Dr. Hikmet Ozdemir made a report on Turkish-Armenian relationships.

Ozdemir said that the Turks attach special importance to the Azerbaijanis: â€œthe Turks have never used the word â€œjanâ€ for the nations except the Azerbaijanis. We call out to Azerbaijanis â€œJan Azerbaijanâ€. It has been 10 years that I research the barbarism against Turks committed by Armenians. The Armenian can kill the armless people and to commit suicide. All these were written to their librariesâ€.

Ozdemir also spoke about the barbarism against Azerbaijani and Turkish citizens committed by Armenians in 1918-1923 and 1973-1994: â€œSuch barbarism like Khojaly genocide was committed by Armenians in Gars and Ardahan in 1915. the Russian researchers also confirmed these facts. 25 children were cut into pieces. They committed the Khojaly genocide as a result of these barbarisms. We understand the Khojaly grief, because we have one enemyâ€.

Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic, who attended the event, also spoke about Armenian barbarism: â€œWe are one nation, two states. We have one grief and gladness. Nowadays some compare turkey with the other Azerbaijani Neighbor countries. But Turkish-Azerbaijani relations can not be comparedâ€.

The Azerbaijani MPs also attended the event.
