# 23 February 2011 12:36 (UTC +04:00)
The conference will be dedicated to 19th anniversary of the tragedy, said the head of TURKSAM and Turkish-Azerbaijani Study Group Sinan Ogan, APA reports.
The organizers noted in their statements that actions of the Armenians, who committed Khojaly genocide, coincide with the concept of genocide defined by a number of international documents, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Declaration on the Protection of Women and Children in Emergency and Armed Conflict, the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, as any of a number of acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group. “The massacre in Khojaly committed by Armenia coincides with the points a) “killing members of the group”; b) “causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group” of the Article 2 of the UN Convention on Genocide, which defines the concept of genocide.
