Azerbaijani embassy in Libya: â€œToday, we are planning to evacuate 12 our compatriots from Libyaâ€

To him, the situation remains strained in the country: â€œMany people try to leave the country, that is why Tripoli airport works in intensive working regime. Azerbaijani citizens have not suffered damages during the events took place in Libya yet. Our embassy makes necessary efforts for sending our compatriots who want to leave the countryâ€.

Note that, there are only twenty Azerbaijani citizens, including family members of our embassy’s officials are in Libya: â€œWe do our best for taking out of our citizens. But 4-5 thousand people intending to leave the country gathered in the airport. Not all planes are given flight permission, even not all the charter flights are realized. Together with CIS countries embassies in Libya we have reached an agreement to realize the process of evacuation of our citizens jointly. If planes are allowed to rise, maybe today we will be able to send 12 our compatriots to Azerbaijanâ€.

Shukurov said that today 4-5 aircrafts of ministries of emergency situations of Russia and Ukraine, as well as 2 ships of Turkey were expected to arrive in Libya: â€œAt the first opportunity our citizens will be sent to homeland via Moscow, Kiev or Istanbulâ€.
