# 22 February 2011 09:51 (UTC +04:00)
According to APA, it will be Semneby’s last visit to Azerbaijan as EU Special Representative for South Caucasus.

Semneby will meet with President Ilam Aliyev and other Azerbaijani officials in Baku.

Semneby, who is on a visit to Georgia now, will end his office of Special Representative on February 28. Brussels has not decided yet to extend his authorities or to appoint him to the new post.

The office of the EU Special Representative for South Caucasus was established in 2006 on the basis of joint decision with the EU Council. EU Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Catherin Ashton said in summer of 2010 that EU intended to abolish the offices of special representatives for Moldova, South Caucasus and Middle East. EU has 11 special representatives for different regions of the world now.
