Azerbaijani ambassador to Malta Vagif Sadigov presents his credentials to President of the country

Ambassador conveyed to President of Malta Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s greetings and invitation to visit Azerbaijan.

Ambassador gave information about Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign policy, social-economic progress and role in the region.

Speaking about the relations between Azerbaijan and Malta, Ambassador Vagif Sadigov noted that there is sustainable cooperation between our countries, there is a great potential to extend bilateral relations in all spheres, particularly in politics, economy, tourism and culture.

Azerbaijani ambassador underlined that Deputy Prime Minister of Foreign Minister of Malta Tonio Borg will visit Azerbaijan, the visit will make significant contribution to the relations between Azerbaijan and Malta.

Following this, Vagif Sadigov gave detailed information about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the current state of the negotiations. He noted regretfully that the negotiations had not produced results and Armenia continued to occupy a part of our countryâ€™s territory.

President George Abela expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani President for invitation and said Malta attaches great importance to the cooperation with Azerbaijan.

He said there is rich potential for cooperation in a number of spheres, particularly information technologies, trade, healthcare, education, underlined the importance of accelerating work on draft agreements to give impetus to the rapid development of the bilateral relations.
