Israel closes embassies in four countries

Baku. Victoria Dementieva â€“ APA. Israel closed embassies in Turkey, Georgia, Venezuela and Egypt. Georgian news agencies said the Israeli embassy in this country was closed a week ago, APA reports.

The embassies in Turkey and Egypt have restricted their working schedules since late January and now suspended their activities.

Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan told APA that the diplomatic mission is continuing its activity: â€œThe embassy resumed its activity after solution of some problems and we are working in normal regime nowâ€.

On February 11, the Israel Counter Terrorism Bureau issued a warning to Israeli travelers to nine countries in anticipation of threats resulting from the anniversary of the assassination of Hezbollah leader Imad Mughniyah. The bureau cautioned the Israeli public that because of the increased threat of terror attacks against Israelis abroad, travels certain destinations should be avoided, including Egypt, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, CÃ´te d’Ivoire, Mauritania and Venezuela. Israeli embassy suspended its activity for several days and the ambassador explained it with the technical problems.
