The state border between the countries was delimitated on land and the depth of the Caspian sea”, said Russian FM’s official representative Alexander Lukashevich commenting on the publication by Nezavisimaya Gazeta about the meeting of Khrakh-Uba and Uryan-Uba residents.

Lukashevic reminded that, the land frontier between the countries was delimitated on the basis of the State Border Treaty signed by the Azerbaijani and Russian presidents in Baku on September 3.

But the FM’s official confirmed that Russian citizens living in these settlements have problems: “These are complex and delicate problems. The foreign ministry jointly with Dagestan’s leadership and the other ministries and organizations work on the solution of this problem. The both countries’ foreign policy organizations are in close cooperation on this issue. The next consultations were held in Baku on the level of Foreign Ministries and our Azerbaijani counterparts promised us that they would render the necessary assistance for the regulation of problems of the Russian citizens. Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan works with the Azerbaijan State Migration Service on this issue. The joint visit will be paid to Khrakh-Uba and Uryan-Uba in the near future”.

Russian FM’s representative also added that it is impossible to solve this problem holding any rallies and the regular work must be conducted.
