Lithuanian Seimas to discuss resolution on Nagorno Karabakh conflict

â€œThis resolution proposes peaceful solution to the conflict and war renunciation. We consider developing the discussions in the spring session. Lithuania has a standing position on solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The conflict must be solved peacefully without bloodshed. Lithuanian foreign minister will visit Azerbaijan soon as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. There is no any pressureâ€, she said.

At first Irena DegutienÄ— didnâ€™t answer the question that â€œLithuania recognized so-called â€œArmenian genocideâ€ in 2005 and do you think to recognize the Khojaly tragedy committed by Armenians as genocide?â€, but then she answered the question. She said Lithuanian Seimas was an institution elected on the democratic basis and every member of the parliament could express own opinion. This issue can be discussed within the framework of the parliamentâ€™s friendship groups. â€œArmenian genocideâ€ was recognized by former parliament. Only three members of that parliament saved their seats after the electionsâ€.
