Speaker of Lithuania Seimas: The relations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania are stepping into a new stage

Speaker of the Seimas said they discussed cooperation in a number of spheres with the heads of Azerbaijani government bodies.
â€œFirst of them is economic cooperation. Business forum was held within the framework of the visit and three agreements were signed during the event. We hope that this forum will help Azerbaijan become an important business partner for Lithuania and the next business forum will be held in Lithuania,â€ she said.

Irena DegutienÄ— also said that the investments, cooperation in the fields of food industry and energy were discussed with the Azerbaijani side.

Speaker of the Seimas said Lithuania is interested in energy projects more and added that liquefied gas terminal is being established in Lithuania. Delivery of the Caspian oil resources to Lithuania via Ukraine-Poland, opening of SOCARâ€™s representation in Lithuania were also discussed during the meeting.

â€œTransport cooperation is one of the issues that interest us. We offer to extend Viking project to Azerbaijan, combine Viking and TRACECA corridors,â€ she said.

Launch of Baku-Vilnius-Baku flights, facilitation of visa issuance for Azerbaijanis, extension of the cultural relations, exchange of students were also discussed during the meetings.
