Baku hosts seminar â€œStructure dialogue for an efficient partnership in developmentâ€

The seminar is attended by 130 representatives of civil societies and local authorities from 17 countries participating in the European Neighborhood Policy. Ali Hasanov, chief of socio-political department of the Presidential Administration, Roland Kobia, head of the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan, Lila Makkay, representative of the Foreign Ministry of Hungary chairing the EU and Angelo Baglio, representative of the European Commission, addressed the event.

Ali Hasanov said dialogue between the representatives of civil society and local authorities is very important and perspective. Speaking about Azerbaijanâ€™s achievements in the development of democracy, civil society, tolerance Ali Hasanov underlined that it can be an example for other countries in these spheres. Touching on the problem of refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov said the efforts of the international organizations for the solution of the problem were not sufficient.

Roland Kobia welcomed the forum and said the event was organized by the European Union in collaboration with Azerbaijan.

Member of the European Parliament Ivo Vajgl underlined the importance of holding the event in Azerbaijan, a very important country in terms of future development and stability. He said that the dialogue organized with the civil societies of the Eastern Partnership countries aims to improve the democratic liberties considered important by the European Union.

Following the official opening, the discussions continued within the framework of several working groups.
