Sloveniaâ€™s former Foreign Minister: The European Union should be more closely involved in the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict

Baku. Viktoria Dementyeva â€“ APA. â€œThe European Union should be more closely involved in the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. This is my personal opinion,â€ former Foreign Minister of Slovenia, member of the European Parliament, member of the parliamentâ€™s committee on development and foreign relations Ivo Vajgl told APA. He said that Nagorno Karabakh conflict can not wait for its solution eternally.
â€œAzerbaijanâ€™s problem with the neighboring state can not wait for its solution eternally. I think the European Union should increase its influence and efforts for the resolution of the conflict. But this problem can not be solved without the active wish and will of the direct participants of the conflict. I am sure that the European Union will pay more attention to the resolution of this conflict,â€ he said.

To the question â€œDoes the European Parliament plan to hold further discussions on Nagorno Karabakh conflict?â€ Ivo Vajgl expressed his confidence in it.
â€œI am sure that we will further discuss this issue at the European Parliament. I consider that we should extend the dialogue and discussions and increase efforts with regard to the problem,â€ he said.

Broad discussions on Nagorno Karabakh were held and a special resolution was adopted at the European Parliament last spring.
