Ogtay Asadov receives French-Azerbaijani working group

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA. Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov received members of French-Azerbaijani working group, press service of the Parliament told APA.

Speaking about Azerbaijan-France relations, Asadov noted that the relations rose to new level after Azerbaijan achieved independence.

â€œWhile world economy faced the crisis in 2009, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and France approached 2 bln euros. French companies take part in production of hydrocarbons of the Caspian Seaâ€, said Asadov.

He also added that there was strong legal basis for more deepening of the cooperation. 35 documents have been signed between these countries so far. Asadov spoke about Nagorno Karabakh problem with the head of working group Natali Gule. He thanked the senator for sounded realities connected with Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Gule said that along with senators, different professionals work in French-Azerbaijani working group.

â€œOur intention is not to compete with friendship group created in the parliament. Our purpose is to contribute to strengthening of French-Azerbaijani relationsâ€, said Gule.

Development perspectives of bilateral relations, ways of solution to regional conflicts and other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
