Washington. Isabel Levine – APA. Turkish and Armenian musicians gave a friendship concert in Washington, DC, hosted by Turkish Ambassador in US and the Diaspora, APA’s Washington DC correspondent reports.

The most controversial part of the event was dedicating an anonymous song "Sari Gelin", which Azeris believe belongs to their heritage, to slain Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink.

Young musicians performed works of Ahmet Adnan Saygun, Edgar Manas, Dikran Cuhaciyan.

"Sharing cultural heritage is the best way to understand each other," Turkey’s Ambassador Namik Tan commented at the event.

A new US ambassador to Turkey and his wife also participated at the concert.
Armenian Ambassador to US also was invited to the event, “but he didn’t come”, Namik Tan said.
