Baku – APA. Five people were killed during the clashes between supporters of President Hosni Mubarak and anti-government protesters in Cairo early morning on Thursday and three were killed in afternoon on February 2. Hundreds of people were injured, APA reports quoting the world’s news agencies. Witnesses said Mubarak’s supporters opened fire on the protesters. "What we see before us has never happened before. Clashes between Egyptian, it is a civil war," said Mohamed Sayed Mostafa, 26. More than 300 people have been killed during the anti-government protests since January 25.

The government of Egypt expressed official protest against the international community’s appeals. Spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hussam Zaki said such appeals only inflame the internal situation in the country. “It is regrettable to see how the US, Britain, French and even Turkey interfere in the processes in Egypt. Let these countries to solve own problems”, said Zaki.
