PACE co-rapporteurs meet with chairman of Central Election Commission

Baku – APA. The PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs Pedro Agramunt Font de Mora and Joseph Debono Grech, who are visiting Azerbaijan, met with the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov. Press service of the CEC told APA that the parliamentary election held on November 7, 2010, was the main theme of discussion. CEC chairman gave detailed information about the measures taken to conduct the elections, noted that all conditions were created for the realization of the active voting rights. The sides discussed level playing field created for the candidates, consideration of the complaints and appeals, registration of the candidates, issues related to the election day. They also spoke about CEC’s cooperation with the international organizations and achievements gained due to this.
