Number of Azerbaijani citizens evacuated from Egypt reaches 137

Baku. Viktoriya Dementyeva - APA. Number of Azerbaijani citizens evacuated from Egypt after the mass unrests reached 137, first secretary of Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt Elnur Ismayilov told APA. Today 7 more Azerbaijani citizens are expected to evacuate in the airport. 9 more citizens of Azerbaijan will leave for Moscow by Sharm El Sheikh-Moscow route. Elnur Ismayilov said that it became difficult to buy tickets at Qahira airport: â€œThere are thousands of people waiting for leaving the country. 3 students studying in Isgandariyya and 10 in Qahira called hot line of Azerbaijani embassy and at present, issues related to their evacuation are being solvedâ€.

Ismayilov said that embassy employees stayed in house of ambassador Shahin Abdullayev in Qahira: â€œYesterday, there was unstable situation in the region where the embassy of Azerbaijan and flats of most of its employees are located. Homes were attacked, different robberies took place. Currently, we are at house of ambassador, the situation is calm here compared to other places. It is very difficult to buy food in Qahira, that is why, embassy employees try to use food reserve economicallyâ€.
