Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Spyros Kouvelis arrives in Baku today

Baku. Lachin Sultanova â€“ APA. The delegation led by Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Spyros Kouvelis will arrive in Baku this evening, APA reports quoting Greeceâ€™s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The purpose of the visit is to participate in the Azerbaijan-Greece intergovernmental commission meeting which will be held tomorrow.

The meetings in Baku will be devoted to the discussions on the extension of bilateral economic cooperation based on energy, including ITGI gas pipeline. Shah Deniz 2 gas distribution which will allow the realization of the ITGI project is also expected to be discussed at the meetings.

Greece is interested in the construction of ITGI (Greece-Turkey-Italy) gas pipeline. Athens intends to transport gas from Azerbaijan via this pipeline.

Greek Foreign Ministry says that Greece is interested in Azerbaijanâ€™s construction, health, infrastructure, marine and communication sectors.
The delegation led by Spyros Kouvelis will hold meetings with Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev, Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Huseyn Bagirov.
