Russiaâ€™s policy in South Caucasus and Azerbaijan in particular to be discussed in Washington

Washington. Isabel Levine â€“ APA. Russiaâ€™s policy in the South Caucasus and in Azerbaijan in particular will be discussed at a conference in Washington DC October 22, APAâ€™s US correspondent reports.

The PONARS Eurasia Policy Conference, organized by the Elliott Schools of International Affairs, The George Washington University, will discuss Russiaâ€™s policy in the post-soviet region, the ex-soviet countriesâ€™ future and perspectives.

American and regional experts, as well as prominent experts on South Caucasus, including Kornely Kakachia, Vitali Silitski, Joshua Tucker and Anar Valiyev of Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy, will discuss Russiaâ€™s neighborhood policy, Russiaâ€™s federalism policy, regional development, ex-soviet countriesâ€™ modernization, Kyrgyzstanâ€™s crisis and uprising, Ukraine during Yanukovichâ€™s regime.

The experts will also consider the role of Azerbaijan as energy provider for the diversification policy as well as Azerbaijanâ€™s role in regional co-operation and stability.
