President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev: â€œI hope OSCE assessment mission’s report will be objective, impartial, and unbalancedâ€

Delivering a speech at the meeting the president said that all state programs of 2010 had been carried out successfully and Azerbaijanâ€™s economy had developed over the past 9 months of the current year: "Over the past period of 2010 Gross Domestic Product has raised up to 4.1%, non-oil sector â€“ 5.2%, industrial production â€“ 3.1%. In Azerbaijan the macroeconomic situation is stable and the strong social policy is carried out. This year, populationâ€™s income has increased up to 11%, which outnumbers more than twice. Beside it, in the current year, the level of the minimum wages and pensions have been increased, and in the future the government will keep on taking all necessary measures to increase populationâ€™s income."

Touching upon the targeted social assistance program, which covers about 600.000 people, president Ilham Aliyev said that that program was carried out successfully, and over the past 9 months the government focused on such fields as education, solution of public health-related problems, administering social infrastructure projects. Speaking about employment issues the head of the state said that since the early in this year 56.000 new jobsites had been created in the country, and noted that, since 2003 up to present approximately 900.000 new jobsites had been created, thus it was achieved the gradual solution of such hard problem as unemployment. 70 per cents of new-created jobsites belong to the private sector. President Ilham Aliyev also noted that Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign currency reserves are more than $ 28 billion.

By the end of the year more than 50 million tons of oil, more than 28 billion cubic meters of gas will be produced and the export geography of the produced oil and gas will increasingly be expanding. President Ilham Aliyev said that over the last period Azerbaijanâ€™s gas potential had been effectively used and noted that the works, being done in Azerbaijanâ€™s energy sector, displaces a great importance for the region and Europe. President Ilham Aliyev said the state budget for the next year is moulded and stressed that the public expenditure budget for 2011, directed to the investment and social issues, will be 12 billion 700 million manats: "Next yearâ€™s military budget will cost 2 billion 500 million manats. We build our economy at the expense of Azerbaijanisâ€™ efforts."
President Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan would never agree with the occupation of its lands. The President expressed hope that the OSCE assessment missionâ€™s report, which recently visited the occupied territories, will be objective, impartial, and unbalanced.

"Nagorno-Karabakh is the native territory of Azerbaijan," the president said. Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan would never abandon its principle position, and over the time the difference between Azerbaijan and Armenia will increase, and Azerbaijan will achieve a problem solution with its strong military potential.

Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov, Executive Director of the State Oil Fund Shahmar Movsumov, President of Azerenerji OJSC Etibar Pirverdiyev provided reported about the works done by their structures in the past nine months.

Delivering a closing speech, President Ilham Aliyev said that in the CIS Azerbaijanâ€™s economy with its competitiveness takes the first place, and the country has all opportunities to preserve this level. President Aliyev instructed to increase Azerbaijanâ€™s export potential, accelerate the industrialization process of the country, transformation Sumgait city to the industrial center, continuation the activities for gardening within the year of ecology, cleaning the Baku bay and construction of the new sewerage system in the bay. The President also instructed to continue the construction of new homes for those who lost due to the natural disaster until the onset of winter, implementation of new projects related to the road transport infrastructure in the regions and the capital, keep on working on the improvement of the construction in the capital, paying attention to entrepreneurship development, accelerate the gasification process in the country and creation of renewable energy sources. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that next year will also be successful for Azerbaijan and all envisaged measures will be implemented.
