Khalaf Khalafov: We have made progress in agreeing a draft agreement on security in the Caspian Sea

According to APA, Khalaf Khalafov at the press conference said that this meeting would become a significant contribution to the commission of the Caspian legal status.

â€œWe worked productively, significant progress in harmonizing inconsistent issues on the draft security agreement on the Caspian Seaâ€, - Khalafov said.

According to him, it needs another meeting to agree on all remaining unmatched points and he expressed hope for a speedy conclusion to the work on this issue.

â€œThis will make some contribution to the question of adopting a new legal status of the Caspian Sea which is working in a separate formatâ€

Khalafov said that the next meeting will be held in Tehran. All that we use to make thorough preparations for the Caspian summit will be held in November this year in Baku.

Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, head of the Department of Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan Zulfiya Amonzhalova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, the presidentâ€™s special representative on Caspian Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzadeh, who also confirmed that the meeting contributed to a significant advancement of negotiations the Caspian Sea, joined to such a positive assessment of todayâ€™s meeting.

â€œWe really have great progress. All participants in the talks are set to resultâ€- Sergey Ryabkov emphasized.

In his opinion, this document will benefit all littoral states.
