Baku hosts regional meeting of Socialist International - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Luis Ayala said regional conflicts and elections to be held in CIS countries will be discussed during the meeting.
â€œWe have gathered here to express our position on the conflicts in the Caucasus and exchange views on this issue,â€ he said.

Speaking about Nagorno Karabakh problem Secretary General said Azerbaijani and Armenian governments are continuing the negotiations on the solution to the conflict, the politicians play important role in the resolution of the problem. He said the Socialist International intends to establish a platform for the dialogue aiming to solve the conflict. Secretary General mentioned that the first meeting was held in Yerevan in June this year. The meeting in Baku is the second.
â€œI hope such events will help activate the dialogue,â€ he said.

Sector Chief of Socio-Political Department of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Vugar Aliyev also addressed the meeting. Vugar Aliyev said Azerbaijan has developed, the poverty level dropped from 49 percent to 11 percent. The representative of the Presidential Administration said there are 54 political parties in the country. Vugar Aliyev said 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory is still under occupation, as a result of the occupation one million Azerbaijanis have become refugees and internally displaced persons.

Following this, member of the Bureau of Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) Mario Nalbandian and head of the Bureauâ€™s Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Kiro Manoyan joined the meeting.
