US Senate reschedules discussions over Matthew Bryzaâ€™s designation to Azerbaijan

Washington. Isabel Levine â€“ APA. The date of the discussions over the nomination of US Ambassador designated to Azerbaijan Mr. Mattew Bryza in the Senate whole meeting was changed, APAâ€™s Washington DC correspondent reports.

"This issue is still on the agenda. During todayâ€™s first discussions the
Senators didnâ€™t have a chance to discuss the nominations issue. But it is still
on our agenda. We will meet next time on Friday, October 8, with the same
agenda, including Mr. Bryza and Mr. Ricciardoneâ€™s issue", said a Senate source.

Meanwhile, itâ€™s not clear yet if the nomination will be voted on, October 8 or
no. However the Ambassadorsâ€™ nominations as well as Bryzaâ€™s one were put on the
Senateâ€™s next executive calendar, the source said adding that itâ€™s extremely
normal that the nominationsâ€™ discussions are rescheduled. The source explained
that usually the Senateâ€™s executive calendar is prepared for the whole session,
not for one or few days: "This is up to the senators, when to vote on the
nominations of Ambassadors".
