Ahmet Davutoglu: “20th anniversary of independence of fraternal Turkic states will be solemnly marked next year”

Baku – APA. Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with the ambassadors of Turkic-speaking countries to Turkey and TURKSOY Secretary General Dushen Kaseinov on the occasion of the Day of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries on October 3. Azerbaijani ambassador to Turkey Faig Bagirov also attended the meeting, APA reports quoting AzerTAC news agency. Ahmet Davutoglu said the agreement signed at the 9th summit of the leaders of Turkic-speaking countries in Nakhchivan on October 3, 2009 had great importance. According to this agreement, the heads of states decided at the Istanbul summit to declare October 3 a Day of Cooperation of the Turkic-speaking countries. It will be called as the Summit of Turkic Cooperation Council beginning from the next year. First new-format meeting will be held in Kazakhstan and second one in Kyrgyzstan. 20th anniversary of the independence of fraternal Turkic states will be solemnly marked next year. The ambassadors also spoke about the importance of the meeting of the heads of states and mentioned activities of the diplomatic missions toward fulfillment of the decisions of those summits.
