OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to arrive in Azerbaijan, October 4

Russian Co-Chair Igor Popov told APA that they will hold meetings with the Azerbaijani authorities concerning the assessment mission in the territories around Nagorno-Karabakh.
â€œWe will hold a press conference on the outcomes of the meetings,â€ he said.

At the request of Azerbaijan, OSCE assessment mission will visit the occupied territories. The mediators had issued a joint statement on the mission. The statement says that following on their preliminary contacts with UN officials in Geneva and New York, the Co-Chairs formally invited UNDP and UNCHR experts to participate in the Mission.

The assessment mission will not visit Nagorno Karabakh, will carry out investigations only in the seven surrounding regions. The visit will start on October 4 and last till October 14.

Spokesman for Foreign Ministry Elkhan Polukhov told APA that Azerbaijan asked investigation of the facts of illegal residence in those territories.
