UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva attends international conference in Moscow

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. UNESCO holds the World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education (WCECCE) in Moscow. UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva attends the conference, APA reports quoting the Russian newspapers.

The goals of the WCECCE are to reaffirm early childhood care and education (ECCE) as a right of all children and as the basis for the development and to identify binding constraints toward making the intended equitable expansion of access to quality of ECCE services, which support children’s survival, growth, development and learning – including health, nutrition and hygiene, and cognitive social, emotional and physical development – from birth to entry into primary school in formal, informal and non-formal settings. They take diverse forms, ranging from parenting programs to community-based and home-based childcare, center-based provision and pre-primary education, often in schools. ECCE includes comprehensive measures to support families, such as maternal and child health, micronutrient supplementation, psychological support to families, programs to promote house hold food security, parental leave and childcare allowance.

UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova, Mayor of Moscow Yuriy Lujkov, Minister of Education and Science of Russia Andrei Fursenko also attend the conference.
