Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijanâ€™s Parliament: â€œSome international circles want to punish Turkey because of closed borders with Armenia as a protest against aggressionâ€

Muradova noted that such attitude towards aggressive state was the example for other countries to take appropriate stand in such matters: â€œBut Turkey is subjected to international pressures in this regardâ€.

Muradova said that some international circles wanted to punish Turkey for its position: â€œAnd the punishment is the demand on opening of borders, forcing Turkey to do itâ€.

To her, opening of borders within the framework of the NATO trainings purposes to force Turkey to withdraw in front of Armenia, and become this process into a repetitive incident: â€œBecause the trainings held in Armenia are humanitarian trainings and it is not so important to bring equipment there from Turkey. NATO can bring equipment to Armenia from other directions as well. Currently, these pressures mean the effort of demanding a short-term border opening and becoming it as a repetitive incident. But I think that Azerbaijan and Turkey are right in protesting this and this position must be continued till the end. I think that Turkish government will be able to stand firm in front of the international pressures again, as well as it will not make an opportunity to open the borders with Armenia by pursuing a policy in the region corresponding with our interestsâ€.
