â€œSummer schoolâ€ project held by famous journalist Thomas Goltz for American students in Azerbaijan ends - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Within the framework of the project on â€œNew silk wayâ€ students of Goltz visited Gobustan national park to view ancient cave paintings and mud volcanoes, returning in afternoon for visit to Martyrsâ€™ Lane cemetery for talk/lecture by Goltz about Karabakh war and Azerbaijani independence movement of early 1990s. Moreover, meeting was held at Nobel Brothersâ€™ residence. Vice-president of SOCAR Elshad Nasirov delivered a speech at the meeting. Participants of â€œSummer schoolâ€ project took part in symbolic planting of trees in rehabilitated old oil field.

On August 18 the guests were welcomed by ADA rector H.E. Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev at ADA building. Pashayev informed the students about establishment causes and future plans of the academy. Then lectures on â€œEnergy and Crisisâ€ by Dr Elnur Sultanov and on â€œEast-West Transportation Networksâ€ by Taleh Ziyadov were listened. After lunch, the group was received by Deputy Minister Araz Azimov for lecture on Karabakh realities. And then they had a private meeting with Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

The students of Montana State University discussed environmental issues with Minister for Ecology Dr Huseyn Bagirov, visited the Meteorological Station inside Shahdagh National Park and climb up mountain to 3,400 meter sub-peak. Moreover, the guests visited refugee camp in Ganja and Barda. On August 24, the students of Montana State University left for Georgia and then to Turkey.
